Brian Mackert is founder and president of Mackert Consulting Group, a Cleveland-based certified public accounting firm that excels in tax, accounting and management consulting services for successful small businesses. The firm’s specialized services encompass succession planning, capital acquisition and banking relationship building. Brian graduated from the Kent State University Honors College in 1984. Since 1970 Mike has been involved in the financial arena of business.  For 10 years he was with Medical Mutual of Ohio working his way to Executive Vice President, Finance and Treasurer.  As the CFO he had responsibility for all financial matters, interacting with accounting firms, government agencies, Board of Directors, and managed a staff of over 4,000 employees.  In 1981 he was instrumental in merging with Blue Cross of Northeast Ohio and Blue Cross of Toledo to form Blue Cross and Blue shield of Ohio.

In 1985 he left Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Ohio to start Great Lakes Computer Corp., which grew from a computer hardware broker to include a computer maintenance division and a P/C support division.  Over the 10 years GLC to a staff of over 50 employees in three different locations.  In 1995, Mike sold Great Lakes Computer to start up Interactive Healthcare Technologies, Inc., which was a software development firm that specialized in developing software for the health insurance industry, which integrated the telephone and the Internet.  He sold Interactive Healthcare Technologies, Inc. in 1999.

For the past few years he has been involved with several startup ventures and has been a consult to startup businesses.   He has an Executive MBA from Baldwin Wallace College and has lectured on Corporate Finance and Personal Financial Planning there for eight years.
